Overview - The scenario
The BBC, in association with the Recycle Now organisation, are looking to develop a cross platform series of games, videos and animated stories to promote and raise the profile of recycling amongst young people (it is up to you to identify an age range).
They are looking for ideas for characters to be used during the development of this project, the only specific requirement for your character is that it is not human but an anthropomorphised animal or object.
They would like to see a full digital documentation of your progress through a comprehensive blog alongside a series of concept drawings and visual representations of the characters you have developed.
These proposed characters should also have a rationale that explains their evidence.

Progression In Photoshop

After playing around with block colours in photoshop we begun looking at tone and depth to give the character more human or realistic qualities. I used the same "Evil Arthur" that i had created before but here i developed him giving him colour and depth.

Unlike last time where i blocked coloured each section of the character and all colours were strong and blocky, very unrealistic and childlike; unprofessional.
So i began to play with colour and tone: i isolated the line drawing and inserted colour underneath making it so that i controlled the colour and the amount and darkness that was on the drawing. I played with overlapping different colours and using black to make things look dirty and uncared for. I thickened the black lines and i tried to give Arthur a more naturalistic look to his skin.

The differences are huge from the blocked images that i did before. they were "rubbish" looking at the differences between these two images. I like this second trial compared to the first however i found it incredibly hard to make it look good.
